Individual Project

Hello students!

I have talked about this term's project to some of you on Zoom. On this post, I would like to mention the basics of it:

1. You have to use one of these two platforms to do your project:

In case you decide to use pixton, enter to my class, so when the time comes, I can access to your stories.

2. The purpose of this project is to describe your activities while in quarantine using the past simple tense. It is required that you use at least 30 different verbs (15 of them regular and 15 irregular). There are no page limits and the number of days described is up to you. You could describe a single day in detail and use 30 different verbs or you could describe a bit of each day of the week and still accomplish the project's purpose.

3. I know being trapped at home is not easy, so I took some time to write a list of activities that you can do mostly at home:

Activities to try during quarantine…
️ Cook something you never tried before.
Exercise. You don’t need a gym for this.
️ Dance. You can learn a choreography, do zumba, etc.
️ Clean out your closet.
️Learn how to tie a tie knot.
️ Tie your shoelaces differently.
️ Discard old pills (medicine) and expired foods.
️ Wash your makeup brushes.
️ Follow a makeup tutorial. It could be something conventional or a bit more eccentric like doing a Catrina make-up.
️ Wash a car.
️ Learn how to change a tire.
️ Learn to change a gas tank.
️ Oil your bicycle.
️ Order your computer files (this includes photos)
️ Do a backup
 Sew your clothes.
Order and scan your important documents.
️Help water the plants
️Play with your pets (if you have them)
 Paint your house/room!
️ Draw something pretty
️ Practice your musical instrument
️ Apply one of the ideas from in-five-minutes tutorials
Write a letter to a loved one!
 Learn to dye clothes
️ Make a craft
 Help with house chores.
️ Read a book you have at home!
️ Make a piñata️ Recycle
️ Learn how to make ice-cream.
️ Play a new videogame/ teach someone how to play.
️ Visit a museum online

From this list, choose 12 activities and do them at home. Then, talk about your experience on your diary.

4. The deadline for this project is on Sunday April 5th at 8:30 p.m. or before. You should send the link of your final work to my e-mail with the following format on the subject:

GROUP - Last name, name

For example:

2AVPG - Domínguez Ortiz Aída

5. Although we still don't now what will happen with the whole COVID-19 situation, I can tell you from this moment that this project will be worth about 50% of your grade, so please try your best to finish it. Among some of the evaluation aspects I will take into consideration are: punctuality (no extensions on deadline), effective use of the platforms and their features, correct use of verbs (grammar), originality (I don't want to read 100 times how people ate breakfast), and honesty.

Due to the latter, I would like to highlight that in case I identify an excessive use of Google translate or other translation apps on your project, your final grade will be 0. No exceptions.

I hope you have fun with this project. If you have questions, feel free to send me an e-mail.

Don't despair,

Aída
